SAP S/4HANA Lead HCM Consultant
We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Lead HCM Consultant to spearhead the implementation of SAP Human Capital Management for a major public sector transformation programme in Botswana. This is an on-site engagement offering the opportunity to lead strategic HR modernization initiatives guide process optimisation and collaborate closely with the clients HR leadership. You will also manage and coordinate a team of functional consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Configuration
o Lead the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA HCM modules including Personnel Administration Organizational Management Payroll and Time Management.
o Configure HCM functionalities to align with public sector standards and client-specific HR requirements.
o Ensure optimal integration of HCM modules within the wider S/4HANA landscape.
HR Process Analysis & Redesign
o Collaborate with HR teams to evaluate existing HR processes and identify improvement opportunities.
o Design and implement enhanced HR processes using SAP best practices.
o Drive business process re-engineering to deliver efficient scalable and future-ready HR operations.
User Enablement & Support
o Develop and deliver tailored training sessions for HR and end-users to ensure strong adoption.
o Provide continuous post-go-live support troubleshooting and guidance to maximize system value.
Stakeholder Engagement
o Partner closely with HR stakeholders to capture requirements present solution options and secure buy-in.
o Act as a trusted advisor to senior HR leaders offering insights on HR transformation and SAP-driven capabilities.
Documentation & Compliance
o Produce thorough and accurate project and system documentation.
o Ensure compliance with HR data regulations privacy standards and organizational governance requirements.
Requirements
SAP HCM Experience: Proven track record in implementing SAP S/4HANA HCM solutions with a minimum of 2 full-cycle Lead HCM Consultant roles.
SAP Certification: SAP S/4HANA HCM certification preferred.
HR Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of HR processes challenges and best practices (HR background advantageous).
Technical & Analytical Ability: Skilled in resolving complex HR process issues using SAP solutions.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple actionable guidance.
Pre-Qualifications
Location: Willing and able to relocate to Gaborone Botswana for the full project duration.
Availability: Must be available to join by 5 January 2026.
Experience: At least two major end-to-end S/4HANA implementations as Lead HCM Consultant.
