Primary Purpose:
Work under moderate supervision to provide comprehensive support for human resource operations focusing on certification licensing and position management. Ensure accurate maintenance of HR records compliance with state and district requirements and efficient administration of position control and employee information systems. Provide responsive knowledgeable assistance to employees supervisors and applicants.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong understanding of the Texas certification process preferred.
Strong understanding andexperience implementingSkyward HR preferred.
Proficiency in keyboarding 10-key data entry file maintenance and office software (spreadsheets databases word processing).
Ability to perform basic math accurately.
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with minimal direction.
Ability to read speak and write English effectively.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of clerical data entry or HR support experience including database maintenance preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
HR Support
Handle routine HR inquiries providing responsive and knowledgeable support to employees and supervisors.
Explain HR policies procedures and practices as appropriate.
Process new hire paperwork including criminal history information references and other required application materials.
Prepare and maintain employee handbooks forms contracts and correspondence in accordance with district standards.
Greet visitors assist employees and applicants with applications and required paperwork and respond to incoming calls.
Certification and Licensing:
- Process teacher and staff applications verifying certifications and licenses with state boards universities and other agencies.
- Assist supervisors in identifying appropriate certification requirements for assignments.
- Track certification testing and permit status; follow up with employees to ensure completion within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate certification and licensing records in databases; research and stay current on relevant rules regulations and deadlines.
Position Control & Data Management:
- Maintain the district position control system accurately and efficiently.
- Process personnel requisitions reconcile vacancies with approved staff allocations verify information accuracy and add new positions as directed.
- Enter update and maintain position data including assignments reassignments salary changes and separations.
- Monitor staffing levels compile data and prepare staffing reports as required.
- Prepare and distribute job vacancy announcements position assignment notices and other related documentation.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR and employee information.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Assist with other HR projects and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Tools/Equipment Used:Standard office equipment including a personal computer and peripherals
Posture:Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting

Environment:Work irregular hours; may work prolonged hours
