This inside sales role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem solving customer engagement and working in a collaborative team setting. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn industry products develop quoting and order management skills and contribute directly to customer satisfaction and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

As the Inside Sales Representative you will support customer inquiries generate quotations and process accurate product and service orders. Your responsibilities will include:

Quoting and Customer Inquiry Management

  • Receive incoming sales calls and respond to customer inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Review customer requirements and inventory availability to provide timely and detailed responses.
  • Clarify specifications revision levels and any exceptions as needed.
  • Source supplier pricing and product availability when required.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotation responses.
  • Conduct quote follow up independently or in coordination with the outside sales team.

Sales Order Processing

  • Review purchase orders to confirm customer requirements and identify changes.
  • Clarify specifications and exceptions to ensure accurate order processing.
  • Communicate detailed order requirements to operations staff.
  • Expedite orders to support on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Supplier Coordination and Purchase Orders

  • Source pricing and availability from suppliers when necessary.
  • Purchase required materials from vendors that meet quality cost and customer timelines.
  • Generate purchase orders for sold items.
  • Communicate specifications and requirements to suppliers.
  • Expedite supplier orders to align with customer delivery dates.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare reports related to order adjustments errors product concerns and material return requests.
  • Support staff in resolving quality action reports and communicate outcomes to customers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the ERP system including pricing feedback and market conditions.

General Responsibilities and Collaboration

  • Follow all safety regulations and work practices to protect employees customers and company property.
  • Monitor steel pricing and broader market trends and record relevant feedback.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the Inside Sales Manager Regional Sales Manager and the sales team.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues and concerns and contribute to customer satisfaction efforts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with both customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate inventory gaps or challenges to the Inside Sales Manager.
  • Support accounts receivable by providing necessary documentation.
  • Continuously develop product knowledge and review customer requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Post secondary education in business marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Zero to three years of inside sales experience preferably in a similar industry.
  • Prior product knowledge preferred but not required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong documentation and computer skills.
