Grade UE07: 41064- 48822 per annum
CMVM- Centre for Cancer Research School of Genetics and Cancer
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term: 12 months
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to join our team based at IGC (ECRC) for a one year post. Our lab studies mutations in the metabolic isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH1/2) genes and this project focusses on how these mutations re-program liver cells in the context of biliary cancer. We are using CRISPR-edited human cells and novel transgenic models in mice to examine how these mutations affect the livers response to damage and explore the link between injury and metabolic re-programming.
Ideally the post holder should have experience of animal work cell culture tissue processing and will be able to perform laboratory analyses of human and mouse tissue including genotyping IHC rt-PCR western blotting and prepare samples for external providers (transcriptomics metabolomics). A large proportion of the work will be based on animal experiments; a PIL is a desired but not an essential requirement for the post. Experience of in vivo models of liver cancer and/or liver disease would be highly desirable.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
The salary for this post is 41064to 48822per annum.
