Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and implement new tooling fixtures and jigs for manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and troubleshoot tooling failures implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Optimize existing tooling designs for improved efficiency cost-effectiveness and extended lifespan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.
- Manage and oversee the maintenance repair and modification of production tooling.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components.
- Conduct tool trials and validations to ensure functionality quality and process capability.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA Mastercam).
- Strong understanding of tooling processes such as injection molding stamping die casting or machining.
- Experience in tool design fabrication maintenance and repair.
- Ability to perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis and troubleshoot tooling issues.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA mold flow analysis).
- Familiarity with G-code programming or CNC machine operation.
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
