The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and implement new tooling fixtures and jigs for manufacturing processes.
• Analyze and troubleshoot tooling failures implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Optimize existing tooling designs for improved efficiency cost-effectiveness and extended lifespan.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.
• Manage and oversee the maintenance repair and modification of production tooling.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components.
• Conduct tool trials and validations to ensure functionality quality and process capability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA Mastercam).
• Strong understanding of tooling processes such as injection molding stamping die casting or machining.
• Experience in tool design fabrication maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis and troubleshoot tooling issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA mold flow analysis).
• Familiarity with G-code programming or CNC machine operation.
• Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
