Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mechanical designs for new and existing products.
• Create detailed CAD models assemblies and engineering drawings conforming to industry standards.
• Perform engineering calculations simulations (e.g. FEA) and analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
• Select appropriate materials components and manufacturing processes for cost-effective and robust production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Design build and test prototypes to validate functionality performance and reliability.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation including specifications BOMs and technical reports.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA or PTC Creo.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication).
• Demonstrated knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) principles and material selection.
• Experience with prototyping testing and validation of mechanical designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g. 3D printing).
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
