Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Conduct design analysis simulations and calculations to ensure product performance reliability and manufacturability.
• Create detailed engineering drawings specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to optimize designs for efficient production processes.
• Participate in prototype development testing and validation processes incorporating feedback into design iterations.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements cost and industry standards.
• Identify and resolve design-related issues implement corrective actions and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) for part and assembly design.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal) and material properties.
• Demonstrated experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Proven ability to analyze design requirements troubleshoot issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) or product data management (PDM) systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping fabrication or workshop tools.
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
