The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials labor and manufacturing overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material labor overhead) and provide insights into their causes.
• Prepare detailed cost reports profitability analyses and inventory valuations for management.
• Manage inventory costing including work-in-process and finished goods and reconcile inventory accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements within production processes.
• Support month-end close activities related to cost of goods sold and inventory valuation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• 3 years of progressive cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth understanding of cost accounting principles standard costing and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and data interpretation abilities.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SAP CO Oracle EBS Costing or similar advanced ERP costing modules.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).
• CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification or active pursuit.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and reporting.
