The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Source and evaluate new suppliers to ensure a reliable and diverse supply chain.
• Generate and place purchase orders for raw materials components and MRO items.
• Monitor and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and prevent production delays.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to optimize inventory levels.
• Resolve issues related to supplier performance material quality and delivery discrepancies.
• Conduct market research to identify new products suppliers and cost reduction opportunities.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Infor).
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications blueprints and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.

Bonus Qualifications

• Professional certification (e.g. CPSM CPIM).
• Experience with advanced features of ERP systems like SAP MM or Oracle Procurement.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to international suppliers.
