Job Description Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technology Program is establishing an ongoing pool of qualified Adjunct Lead Lab Instructors to teach one designated laboratory course per appointment. Courses may include Microbiology Hematology Clinical Chemistry Blood Bank Immunology or Urinalysis & Body Fluids. Adjuncts may be selected for daytime or evening lab sections depending on program needs and applicant availability. Joining the pool does not guarantee immediate placement; applicants will be contacted as openings arise.
Duties
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support Serve as the lead instructor for one specific MLT laboratory course. Deliver hands-on lab instruction aligned with program competencies and NAACLS standards. Demonstrate proper procedures instrumentation and safety practices. Assist students with technique troubleshooting and critical thinking during lab activities. Evaluate student performance using established rubrics and grading guidelines. Lab Management & Preparation Prepare organize and maintain all materials required for your assigned course (reagents QC samples equipment media etc.). Ensure laboratory readiness before each session. Oversee lab clean-up and proper storage of materials after class. Maintain a safe professional and positive learning environment. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA CLIA and institutional safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation including safety forms QC logs and instructional records as required. Ensure proper disposal of chemical and biological waste. Collaboration Work closely with full-time MLT faculty to maintain course consistency. Provide feedback on student performance and lab operations. Participate in occasional training meetings or course updates as needed.
Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology 2. MLS ASCP
