Staff Accountant

Rockville MD Full-time

Nexagen Searchis representing a biotechnology company that is hiring for a Staff Accountantto join their finance team in Rockville MD. This role will report to the Director of Finance and will focus on AP/AR processing month-end close cycle along with providing general support across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze customer accounts to identify non-payments delayed payments and account irregularities.
Generate and distribute customer invoices and enter wholesale orders.
Reconcile customer accounts investigate discrepancies and manage payment collections.
Receive verify and process vendor invoices; reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Assist employees with preparing and submitting expense reports.
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities in QuickBooks Online.

Core Qualifications & Experience:

3 years of accounting or finance experience.
Solid understanding of general ledger AP/AR and reconciliations.
Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks Avalara or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong organizational skills accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: 80-90k base (depending on experience) 15% annual bonus
