YWCA Greater Cleveland is seeking a Staff Accountant who brings strong technical accounting skills sound judgment and a collaborative mindset to our Finance Team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate financial systems while contributing to a mission-driven organization committed to equity accountability and community impact.
The Staff Accountant supports daily financial operations including payroll accounts payable and receivable reconciliations and month-end close activities. This position works closely with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate reporting compliance with regulations and strong internal controls. The role is based onsite at our Midtown Cleveland location and offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Manage day-to-day accounting functions including vendor payments payroll processing bank and account reconciliations
Prepare journal entries financial statements fixed asset schedules and month-end close documentation
Support grant-related accounting audits and budget tracking
Use accounting software (QuickBooks Online) and spreadsheets to maintain accurate financial records
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field with 4-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong analytical organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team and responding professionally to internal inquiries
Commitment to accuracy integrity and continuous improvement of accounting processes
Preferred: Experience in nonprofit or grant-funded organizations
