Planning Engineer - MEP

The Planning Engineer MEP will be responsible for developing monitoring and managing project schedules resource plans and progress reports for Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works across engineering and construction projects. This role involves interpreting project requirements coordinating with multidisciplinary teams ensuring accurate planning documentation and providing timely updates to support informed decision-making. The Planning Engineer will ensure effective project tracking timely execution and strong collaboration with engineers project managers and other stakeholders to achieve project milestones efficiently and in full compliance with industry standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain project schedules using planning software (Primavera P6 MS Project).

Coordinate with project teams to gather and analyse project requirements milestones and timelines.

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.

Monitor progress generate reports and provide updates to stakeholders.

Support project managers with resource allocation planning and procurement.

Track delays and variances recommending corrective actions where necessary.

Prepare and review schedules forecasts and progress reports.

Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost-control measures.

Candidate Profile:

Bachelors degree in a relevant Engineering or Project Management field.

Minimum of three years experience in project planning or scheduling within the construction or engineering industries.

Proficiency in Primavera P6 MS Project or similar scheduling tools.

Strong analytical problem-solving and organisational skills.

Sound knowledge of project management principles project lifecycles and scheduling methodologies.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Knowledge of the construction industry will be considered an added advantage.

Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards within project planning and execution.
