About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Housing Management to provide visionary leadership within the Councils Housing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and transform the delivery of housing management across the borough.

This role sits at the heart of our commitment to delivering high-quality resident-focused services and ensuring that every household receives the support and quality of service they deserve.

Over recent years we have embarked on an ambitious Housing Transformation Programme driving improvements that have already made a meaningful difference to our residents. Our recent inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing has acknowledged this progress and we remain determined to go further by strengthening standards embedding best practice and delivering a consistently excellent housing offer.

The Director of Housing Management will play a pivotal role in delivering this next chapter. Working closely with Members and senior officers across the Council the successful candidate will shape and implement strategic housing policy ensure service integration and lead the continuous improvement and financial sustainability of our Housing Management service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Housing Management functions ensuring services are high performing resident-centred and aligned with borough-wide priorities.
  • Advise Members the Corporate Director of Housing and senior officers on all matters relating to housing management contributing to effective decision-making that directly impacts residents and communities.
  • Drive service transformation and innovation ensuring our improvement plans deliver measurable outcomes and contribute to thriving sustainable neighbourhoods.
  • Strengthen operational and financial controls ensuring the service delivers value for money and operates within a robust governance framework.
  • Champion a collaborative joined-up approach across the Council ensuring Housing Management plays a central role in achieving our strategic ambitions and corporate mission.
  • Embed a culture of excellence placing residents at the heart of service design delivery and performance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educated to degree level or equivalent standard.

Relevant postgraduate / professional qualification

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
