The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking an SAP Technical Supervisor to lead and oversee the technical design development and support of SAP systems across the enterprise landscape. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day SAP operations as well as directly support the implementation of organizational strategic initiations in relation to the technical responsibilities of this position. The IS Supervisor reports to the SAP Services Manager within the Information Services Division.

The SAP Technical Supervisor will lead the SAP technical team ensuring adherence to Clean Core principles enforcing governance standards for custom development system performance and technical operations throughout the system lifecycle. The Technical Supervisor must establish collaborative partnership with the SAP Functional Supervisor as their respective responsibilities form a service delivery design and implementation alliance promoting the SAP Fit-to-Standard approach the SAP Clean Core governance. This partnership is essential in the delivery of modern integrated SAP solutions supporting continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Supervise SAP technical resources across development Basis integrations and security to ensure quality and timely technical service delivery.
  • Lead technical design reviews and solution validation for development of RICEFW objects to provide oversight to promote native extensibility.
  • Ensure SAP system performance stability and compliance with organization policies and standards.
  • Manage technical system upgrades support packages transports and release management and adhere to change management processes.

Clean Core & Governance

  • Enforce SAP Clean Core principles by minimizing custom code with preference to BTP and In-App extensibility standards.
  • Implement and maintain RICEFW governance including the decision justification and approval for custom developments over extensions.
  • Maintain a repository of technical documentation objects and configurations with full traceability.

Project & Delivery Oversight

  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to scope design and deliver SAP solutions to meet business outcomes.
  • Supervise development and testing cycles (Unit UAT Regression) to ensure technical readiness for go-live.
  • Support integration between SAP cloud systems and external or edge systems.
  • Oversee technical cutover and post-implementation support activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive automation performance tuning and simplification of SAP technical landscapes.
  • Monitor system usage code quality and transport efficiency; identify opportunities to streamline.
  • Stay current on SAP technology innovations (S/4HANA BTP Fiori Integration Suite etc.).
  • Provide training and mentorship to technical resources to enhance capability and compliance with SAP development standards.

  • Stable high-performing SAP environments with minimal custom-code incidents.
  • Compliance with Clean Core and upgrade readiness metrics.
  • Technical resource development plans and knowledge repository.

Location:

This position is based inEugene Oregon and has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon. Out of area candidates may be eligible for a relocation reimbursement.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting annual salary for this position is $124313.98 to $165751.97 commensurate with knowledge skills education and experience as it relates to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in technology business or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible work in a related technical field with four years in Software Development and experience in program leadership and/or supervision.

Recommended Education Experience Training & Certifications

  • SAP certification in one or more SAP cloud technologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
  • Experience with Agile or ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with Project Management Methods.
  • Experience with SAP Implementations.
  • Experience with SAP Operations.
