What Youll Build
- A research practice that directly informs product roadmap onboarding optimization and go-to-market strategy
- Customer segmentation framework using JTBD methodology that drives personalization across product and marketing
- Feedback & insight systems that make research accessible and actionable across the organization
- Strong cross-functional partnerships with Product Product Marketing Sales and Analytics built on evidence-based influence
- Data-informed decision-making culture where user insights are central to how we build and grow
Key Responsibilities
Conversion & Activation Research
- Lead qualitative research to understand and improve activation and conversion across the trial-to-paid journey mapping the funnel and identifying friction points with strong focus on trial-to-paid
- Diagnose behavioral patterns that correlate with trial abandonment disengagement or conversion success
Customer Insights & Segmentation
- Conduct in-depth customer interviews using JTBD methodology to understand motivations constraints and adoption patterns
- Develop actionable behavioral segments based on customer journeys accounting system context and desired outcomes
- Build continuous feedback loops that capture insights and translate them into prioritized product opportunities with measurable impact
Lean Validation & Data Analysis
- Design cost-effective methods to validate hypotheses through surveys interviews and usability testing
- Independently analyze conversion funnels user cohorts and behavioral patterns in Amplitude to identify research opportunities and drop-off points
- Use data trends to shape research questions validate insights with behavioral patterns and push for data-driven decisions
Cross-Functional Influence & Capability Building
- Present insights to Product Marketing Sales and leadership in clear decision-ready formats
- Partner with Product Marketing to validate messaging positioning and onboarding content
Qualifications :
Youre a Great Fit If You:
- Have 5 years product/UX research experience in B2B SaaS with a track record of influencing product decisions
- Can operate independently to shape research practices and drive adoption across teams
- Are comfortable independently analyzing funnels and cohorts in Amplitude or similar analytics tools
- Use AI to scale research impact - automating analysis surfacing patterns and generating insights that would traditionally require larger teams
- Have experience with conversion optimization onboarding research or PLG environments
Youre Not a Great Fit If You:
- Need established processes research ops support or clear infrastructure to be effective
- Prefer months-long studies over scrappy iterative approaches
- Want a team of researchers to collaborate with daily
- Are uncomfortable having research findings challenged or questioned
