Griffith Health are excited to share a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for the role of Placements / Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Educator for the Commonwealth-funded project National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Program Pilot. This position will commence as soon as possible and will conclude with the completion of the project funding period on 27 November 2026.
The WIL Educator position is a full-time opportunity based at the Gold Coast campus supporting the Social Work discipline to deliver and evaluate innovative placement models within the National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Program Pilot (NMHPtPPP). This national initiative aims to strengthen Australias mental health workforce by increasing the number of nursing and allied health students including social work occupational therapy and psychology students who gain high-quality supervised placement experiences in a variety of mental health settings.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and supervising Social Work student placements and ensuring that students are supported to develop their professional skills. The role involves fostering strong partnerships with placement providers supervisors and community organisations to expand placement capacity and promote sustainable mental health workforce development.
This role will form part of the National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Program team under the direction of the Project Manager and will work closely with academic staff in the School of Health Sciences and Social Work Placement and Partnerships Team Leader and Placement Officer. The WIL Educator will contribute to the programs goals by delivering innovative and collaborative placement experiences supporting student learning and engaging with key stakeholders across the health and community sectors.
About you
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Work professional who is committed to supporting student success and enhancing the quality of work-integrated learning experiences. You will hold a Social Work qualification and be eligible for AASW membership with demonstrated experience in field education supervision or practice within community or mental health settings.
You will be highly organised adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a collaborative academic and industry environment Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential as you will engage with students placement providers and academic staff to coordinate and support placements across a variety of settings.
Your ability to apply initiative solve problems and contribute to innovative placement models will be key to the success of this role.
A proactive and collegial team member you will contribute to Griffith Healths mission to deliver high-quality practice-based learning experiences that strengthen Australias mental health and social work workforce.
Salary range
The full-time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 7 range $101068 - $109.496 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $118249 - $128110 per annum.
