Job Summary

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

At Magnolia internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills and expertise toward achieving organizational goals. Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need. Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco Texas. The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Senior Graphic Designer Brand Experience and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design digital and print material and prepare files for delivery while adhering to brand guidelines
  • Curate photography needed for blogs
  • Retouch and manipulate images for Magnolia designs for digital marketing and print
  • Implement direction from design lead in developing design concepts
  • Participate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunities
  • Complete additional departmental projects or tasks as instructed by internship supervisor
  • Participate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semester
  • Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to determine the priority and process of assignments
  • Ensure that projects are on track for correct execution within requireddeadlines
  • Hold all sensitive information with the strictestconfidence
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive goal isachievable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a college junior or senior graduate student or recent graduate (up to two years post grad)
  • Must be available to work 15-25 hours weekly for the duration of the internship program

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach handle feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
