Job Summary

A leading wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its Tax & Financial Planning team. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing complex tax engagements overseeing 2-3 staff members and operating in a client facing capacity providing strategic tax planning for high-net-worth individuals families and business owners.

The Tax Manager will prepare and review complex individual trust estate and entity tax returns; lead and mentor tax staff; and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. This position partners closely with the firms financial advisors to integrate tax insights into holistic financial strategies.

This opportunity is geared to grow into a Director seat within 2 years! The executive team is open to professionals seeking relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth clients including individuals estates trusts and passthrough entities.
Prepare and review complex income tax returns and ensure timely accurate filings.
Advise clients on proactive tax strategies and evolving tax laws.
Supervise mentor and review the work of tax associates.
Collaborate with wealth advisors to align tax and financial planning goals.
Manage client communications audits and correspondence with tax authorities.
Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Tax or Finance.
CPA required; CFP preferred.
10 years of experience preparing complex returns for high-net-worth individuals and families (estate trust etc.)
3 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with passthrough-entity taxation preferred.
Proficiency with Axcess Tax Bloomberg Income Tax Planner and Canopy; familiarity with MoneyGuideElite or Holistiplan a plus.
