Job Summary

Sheppard Pratt is hiring Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Fellows at multiple school locations. Current openings include the Sheppard Pratt School in Gaithersburg Rockville and Lanham. Under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist the Clinical Fellow plays a crucial role in identifying assessing diagnosing and treating speech voice fluency hearing and language disorders in the student population. What to expect.

Under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist the Clinical Fellow will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students identified as needing support.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identifying assessing diagnosing and treating speech voice fluency hearing and language disorders in our student population
  • Providing individual and group therapy tailored to the developmental needs of students and complete quality documentation
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Developing and presenting speech-language programs for staff development and training.
  • Staying current with advances in speech pathology and special education techniques especially in school-based settings.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education and years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

  • A masters degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Must demonstrate eligibility for limited licensure as a speech-language pathologist fellow by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at time of appointment and once obtained must maintain licensure continuously throughout tenure in position.
  • Clinical Fellows are responsible for completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and taking all necessary steps to obtain full state licensure promptly upon meeting requirements.
