Job Duties:

The Department of University Health and Counseling Services at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Wellness Navigator (Professional Consultant TE010). This position will work on-site at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Rock County Campus in Janesville WI.

This position will be a temporary 1-year position with possibility of renewal based on funding and program needs.

Job Details:

The University of WisconsinWhitewater seeks a highly motivated professional to serve as a USTE focused on student wellness outreach and mental health support. This position will play a critical role in advancing campus-wide wellbeing initiatives including suicide prevention telehealth implementation and resource promotion with dedicated support for the Rock County campus in Janesville WI.

Primary Responsibilities:

Wellness Outreach & Programming:

  • Coordinate implement and evaluate campus wellness initiatives with a particular emphasis on suicide prevention and mental health promotion.

  • Support the delivery and expansion of Recognize Respond Refer training and other prevention programming.

  • Develop and disseminate health and wellness communications to students faculty and staff via print materials presentations workshops wellbeing campaigns social media campaigns and cross-departmental collaborations.

Telehealth Services Rollout:

  • Assist with the implementation and promotion of contracted telehealth services (Mantra).

  • Collaborate with campus partners to integrate telehealth access into existing student support systems.

  • Serve as a point of contact for student and staff inquiries related to telehealth resources.

Rock County Campus Support:

  • Coordinate outreach programming and student support related to wellness and mental health at the Rock County campus.

  • Ensure consistent connection between Rock County and Whitewater campus wellness and counseling services.

  • Collaborate with faculty staff and student leaders to tailor resources to Rock Countys needs.

  • Assist with Coordination of CARE and Conduct Concerns

  • Assist Rock County campus students with case management of resource referrals

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:

The starting hourly rate for this USTEposition is $27.94/hr with the ability to work up to 1040 hours within a 12 month period. This position anticipates working approximately 3days per week on the Rock County Campus during the academic year

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in public health counseling social work psychology student affairs or related field required.

  • Demonstrated experience with health education student wellness or outreach programming.

  • Knowledge of suicide prevention mental health promotion and campus-based wellness strategies.

  • Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse student populations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic cultural and ethnic backgrounds

  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
