We are looking for a Principal Advisor Program management who will be responsible for delivery of Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) projects within the agreed timelines scope cost and quality criteria. Provides project management advice and support to function specific or cross functional projects.

This role is a great opportunity to use your project management and partnering experience to create value for Rio Tinto by running various IS&T surface & underground projects at various mine sites. Reporting to the Delivery Manager Projects you will be responsible for:

• Developing project estimates and plans to manage the end-to-end project execution and implementing projects in accordance with the approved scope
• Implementing an effective stakeholder engagement plan through the life of the project.
• Monitoring managing and reporting all relevant project performance indicators to meet business requirements.
• Managing relationships with key project stakeholders.
• Sourcing vendors / consultants as required and monitor performance against contract requirements.
• Providing technical support and direction to project stakeholders building on and sharing the lessons learnt.
• Identifying and resolving any project delivery performance issues in a timely manner.
• Identifying and where appropriate implementing improvements to project delivery methods.

What youll bring

To be successfully considered for this role you will have:

• A strong safety mindset
• Bachelor of Business or Engineering degree.
• 7 years project management experience
• Proven consulting relationship building and coaching experience.
• Experience working effectively in virtual teams.
• Proven success in managing multiple projects and priorities in parallel.
• Experience in building integrated logic drive resource loaded schedules in Primavera (P6) highly desired
• Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
• A successful track record of vendor and contract management
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Surface and underground mining experience highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage/oversee work in high risk high hazard environments.
• Capable of wearing various levels of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to access hazardous work areas (i.e. open pit and underground mines) as needed to oversee work.
