Job Description Data Engineer (Automotive Systems)
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer / AI Engineer who can build scalable data pipelines develop API-based integrations and work with real-time automotive sensor data to power intelligent applications. The ideal candidate blends strong Python and data engineering skills with exposure to AI/LLM technologies and a curiosity for automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement data ingestion and processing pipelines for automotive telemetry.
Build and maintain REST APIs to serve processed data or analytics results to downstream systems.
Work with Kafka or Flink for streaming real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
Implement data models and feature extraction using Python Pandas NumPy.
Integrate Vector Databases (VectorDBs) for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and semantic search workflows.
Collaborate with AI/ML teams on model development data preparation and deployment.
Develop and maintain AI-driven tools and chatbots (e.g. guided repair assistants overview bots).
Ensure data quality scalability and reliability across systems and services.
Work closely with automotive domain experts to contextualize insights and validate model performance.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas NumPy FastAPI/Flask).
Experience with stream processing frameworks like Kafka or Apache Flink.
Knowledge of Core Java for building Data pipelines in Flink.
Familiarity with Vector Databases.
Knowledge of REST APIs ability to build deploy and integrate them.
Solid understanding of data engineering principles (ETL batch vs. stream processing data schemas).
Hands-on with AI/LLM tools (e.g. AWS Bedrock OpenAI APIs LangChain).
Experience handling structured and semi-structured sensor data (CSV JSON telemetry logs).
Good debugging and analytical skills for working with real-time data flows.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2-3 years of working on data pipelines at scale..
Experience with automotive or IoT data systems.
Exposure to cloud environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
Understanding of agentic AI frameworks or autonomous workflow orchestration.
