Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for education and stakeholder engagement Birmingham City Council is seeking a dynamic School Relationship Manager to lead and shape communications across our schools and education settings.

About the Role

As School Relationship Manager youll be at the heart of our School Improvement team driving impactful messaging and fostering strong relationships with over 444 schools strategic partners and internal stakeholders. Youll lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive communications strategy that reflects the Councils values and supports our shared priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Directorate-wide communications strategy and campaigns
  • Advise senior leaders and the Director of Childrens Services on messaging and engagement
  • Oversee digital content including the School Noticeboard and online platforms
  • Coordinate cross-agency communications with partners like Birmingham Childrens Trust and Public Health
  • Manage high-profile events and engagement activities
  • Line manage the Family Hub Coordinator

  • A graduate-level qualification or significant communications experience
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement and strategic communications
  • Exceptional writing verbal and digital communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities
  • Cultural competence and a commitment to inclusive communications
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and local government environment
