Job Description: Commissioning Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working on high-voltage (HV) systems substations and complex electrical infrastructure ensuring safe reliable and efficient testing and commissioning. Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the testing and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) electrical systems and substations.
• Ensure equipment is tested and operational according to project specifications standards and safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to installation testing and commissioning.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans procedures and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers engineers and contractors.
• Document test results equipment performance and submit detailed commissioning reports.
• Maintain compliance with health safety and environmental standards throughout projects.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Required Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in testing commissioning and maintaining high-voltage (HV) systems and substations.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment and procedures.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. IEC IEEE).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in relay testing and secondary system integration.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and communications protocols.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical testing and commissioning (e.g. NETA NICET).
