We are seeking an enthusiastic Information Security Consultant to join the Information Security Group. This role is ideal for an early-mid career professional passionate about information security eager to learn and ready to contribute to the secure operation of critical systems across the Westpac Group. You will receive training opportunities and supportive mentorship from an experienced team of seasoned security professionals giving you a solid foundation to grow your career in security operations and consultancy.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the Microsoft Defender for Identity console
- Troubleshooting agent health and connectivity
- Monitoring health alerts and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to address
- Working with local and international teams to coordinate setup and upgrades
- General environment maintenance and health checks
- Help with the documentation of operational procedures and knowledge articles
- Communication with stakeholders around best practices
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives to strengthen security services
What do I need
- Relevant tertiary certifications or equivalent experience in Information Security computer science or a related discipline (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Exposure to security solutions such as Microsoft Defender Suite CyberArk Active Directory or similar is beneficial but not mandatory
- Understanding of basic network security concepts user account management and IT operations is desirable
- Previous experience in a support IT administration or security operations role will be well regarded
- Demonstrated interest in information security with exposure to or understanding of Identity and Privileged Access Management
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Defender Product Suite
- System Administration of Windows Server and UNIX/ RHEL operating systems
- Exposure to Entra ID management and RBAC Roles
- Set up and troubleshooting of RDP and SSH network protocols
- Set up and management of Windows Server Remote Desktop Gateway and IIS Server
- Exposure to Ansible PowerShell and/or Python is favourable
