Scope of work

Assumes shift accountability for managing supervising and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support unit-based goal setting program development fiscal management resource allocation standards of care policy and procedure development and interpretation performance improvement performance correction and coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
• Masters Degree nursing (MSN) Preferred.
• 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.
• 2 years of relevant experience recent relevant leadership (i.e. Charge Nurse Shared Leadership position Magnet Champion QSO) (based on Corewell Health entity) Preferred.
• MI RN license Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) 180 days Required.
• Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire into the role.
