Job Summary

In this role you wont just be managing numbersyoull be shaping smarter financial processes for Councils capital works program and Capital Infrastructure directorate. Youll deliver accurate and timely insights that support strategic investment decisions and ensure strong financial governance.

Youll maintain Councils asset register with accuracy and efficiency ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.

The role also leads the forecasting and budgeting of capital works providing financial insights and business partnering support to enable informed decision-making and sustainable asset management.

About the Role

Are you ready to make a real impact on how Council plans and manages its infrastructure investments As the Finance Business Partner Capital Works youll be at the heart of financial governance for our capital programensuring every dollar is accounted for and every decision is backed by reliable insights.

Your focus will be on maintaining Councils financial asset register with precision and compliance leading related end-of-month processes and partnering with the Infrastructure team to ensure valuations meet Accounting Standards.

Youll play a key role in capital forecasting and budgeting helping shape sustainable financial strategies that align with Councils long-term priorities.

Beyond the numbers youll build strong relationships across the organisationproviding tailored financial advice delivering training and improving capital reporting. From audits to policy development your expertise will help strengthen financial capability and support better outcomes for the community.

About the Successful Candidate

Your strong understanding of capital and operating budget processes including forecasting and financial modelling enables you to provide strategic insights that support organisational priorities. You excel at building relationships and influencing outcomes offering high-level financial advice and delivering tailored training to enhance financial literacy across diverse teams.

Youre a detail-driven finance professional with a passion for accuracy and compliance. You bring demonstrated expertise in maintaining financial asset registers in line with Australian Accounting Standards and internal policiesensuring data integrity through meticulous reconciliations and alignment with infrastructure asset information.

With a proven ability to improve financial reporting and ensure audit readiness you thrive on driving efficiency and compliance in capital project reporting and statutory requirements. Your exceptional communication skillsboth written and verbalallow you to negotiate collaborate and achieve results across multidisciplinary teams.
