A high-growth fintech company is building the next generation of payment infrastructure across Africa. They are on a mission to make money movement seamless inclusive and scalable across borders.

They are looking for a commercially driven and technically savvy Head of Trading to join their trading team in Cape Town. This hybrid role combines real-time market making pricing across FX and crypto pairs client interaction and collaboration with developers and quants to enhance trading infrastructure. You will play a key role in shaping trading operations and contributing to the growth of cross-border payments in Africa.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Make competitive two-way prices across major and emerging FX pairs and leading crypto assets.
• Monitor liquidity venues OTC flows and market depth to optimize pricing and execution.
• Maintain real-time visibility on P&L inventory spreads and risk exposures.
• Execute trades and manage flows within risk limits and compliance policies.

• Quote spot FX and crypto prices directly to institutional and high-volume clients.
• Negotiate trade terms and manage client expectations on pricing and execution.
• Provide market insights and pricing rationale to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the sales team on onboarding pricing strategies and client retention.

• Work with quant and engineering teams to enhance pricing engines trading algorithms and execution logic.
• Suggest and test improvements for latency reduction pricing accuracy and auto-hedging.
• Analyze trade data to optimize spreads slippage and trading performance.
• Support system upgrades new product launches and venue integrations.

• Collaborate with leadership on business processes and revenue-generation strategies.
• Assist with ad hoc tasks and attend stakeholder meetings when required.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

• Bachelors or Masters in Finance Economics Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• Professional certifications (CFA CA FASSA) advantageous but not required.
• 510 years in spot or derivative market making.
• OTC institutional crypto or FX trading experience preferred.
• Proven track record in pricing risk management and client interaction.
• Familiarity with both centralized and decentralized crypto venues is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of pricing models market making order books and market dynamics.
• Knowledge of FIX protocols WebSocket APIs and trading platform integrations.
