We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician - Basic Grade Rotational (FTC) into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Manage medication procurement storage dispensing and supply in line with quality safety and value-for-money standards.
Perform all dispensary duties including Pyxis maintenance stock management charging and returns extemporaneous dispensing pre-packing compounding and prescription processing.
Maintain accurate drug usage data complete documentation check expiry dates rotate stock and report shortages or issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with all Pharmacy hospital and Health & Safety protocols addressing any non-compliance immediately.
Provide aseptic services support including chemotherapy preparation isolator checks validations stock management and documentation.
Deliver high-quality customer service handling calls supporting clinical staff ensuring correct medication supply and maintaining clear communication.
Participate in staff training and development including training technicians students and hospital staff and engaging in ongoing professional education.
Use and support hospital IT systems particularly Pyxis automated cabinets and related pharmacy software.
Contribute to quality safety and accreditation programmes (e.g. JCI) complete audits report incidents and support policy and service development.
Demonstrate flexibility by supporting extended hours on-call cover weekend rosters and adapting to changing service needs.
Requirements
Pharmaceutical Technician Diploma.
Experience with new technologies including automation (desirable).
Compounding experience (desirable).
Ability to work as part of a punctual dedicated and professional team.
Promote and maintain open communication and positive working relationships.
Maintain the health safety and security of self and others.
Contribute to continuous service improvement.
Experience in training others (desirable).
Self-motivated with a strong commitment to delivering quality services.
