About the position


We are searching for an Analyst responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative logistical and operational support to the research unit of Tropical Forages. The Analyst will provide support for the following projects within the Tropical Forages Unit.


The Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the effective planning implementation and monitoring of project objectives outputs and activities as well as the efficient management of financial resources contracts and logistics across both projects. By supporting these efforts the Analyst will make a significant contribution to the goals of the TFP in the Alliance Bioversity - CIAT fostering strong international partnerships to enhance global impact.



The position will be based at the Alliances Americas Hub in Palmira Colombia. The office will be located on the east side of the Tropical Forages laboratories.



Requirements


Key Responsibilities


  • Work closely with researchers to plan execute and track project objectives outputs and activities ensuring timely completion and delivery.
  • Align project activities with the researchers schedule and budget to maintain a balance between project goals and financial constraints.
  • Facilitate idea development for efficient implementation of timeline of activities within the project.
  • Establish strong communication at all levels representing both researchers and administrators of CIAT and One CGIAR partners (i.e. ILRI and ICARDA) and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Develop and maintain commitments to ensure researchers compliance with donors and co-implementing partners including One CGIAR partners and the external collaborators (e.g. University of Javeriana Colombia; Ag Research New Zealand).
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress by overseeing data collection storage and maintenance in repositories with metadata compliance.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation for measuring regional and global outputs outcomes and impact at any given time.
  • Provide support to national and international logistics for infrastructure related to enteric methane quantification and project workshop coordination.


Qualification and Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in administration or a related field such as business accounting economics or finance is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Office software including Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint is necessary.
  • Support research staff in the hub in raising the request for the acquisition of goods and services and following up with the person responsible for implementation liaising with accounting staff about payments as well as other relevant admin duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating workshops and meetings involving participants from diverse organizations regions and cultural backgrounds
  • Experience with similar international research organizations is a plus.
  • Experience in effective communication and reporting to international donors is an asset and national and international partners including government agencies and research institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience to work effectively as part of a team with people in a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary environment.
  • English intermediate to advanced (oral & written).

Terms of employment


This is a nationally recruited position placed at a BG06 on a scale of 14 levels with level 14 being the highest. This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed term contract of a one (1) year period subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources. Required Skills:
