Job Summary

Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for an Abuse Investigator for our Developmental Disabilities this role you will be responsible for receiving screening phone calls and conducting investigatory reports. Your job duties will include activities to conduct assessments provide referrals complete protective services investigations and provide case management services.

The Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree in human science social science behavioral science or criminal science and two years of human services law enforcement or investigative experience.

OR

  • An associates degree in human science social science behavioral science or criminal science and four years of human services law enforcement or investigative experience.


  • Human services experience must include work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economical disadvantages employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging disabilities prevention health cultural competencies or housing.

The Candidate:

As an ideal candidate for this position you should have knowledge of:

  • The public service system for developmental disability services in Oregon.
  • K-plan related services and ISPs.
  • Investigative and fact-finding principles and practices
  • Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) governing Adult and Child Foster Care Homes


We are looking for candidates that have excellent skills in organization paperwork management and communication both verbally and in writing in addition to typing and computer proficiency. Further you must demonstrate listening and other skills which help clients feel comfortable sharing information foster good public relations and encourage team facilitation.
