Job Summary
Job Description Summary
The Senior R&D Engineering Leader is responsible for leading a global team its people and the on-time delivery of its projects within budget. She or he is responsible for identifying and managing the required skills and capacity and grow these through training hiring and outsourcing.The Senior R&D Engineering Leader ensures the cohesion and proper functioning of his team. She or he drives the daily activities of the team sets the priorities for each team member and evaluates each team members performance & growth objectives.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on cross-silo operational leader with good knowledge of protection automation and control of the electricity grid. She or he will be an excellent communicator capable of addressing technical issues with the R&D teams while keeping the overall program view and customer commitments.
The Senior R&D Engineering Leader will report directly to the global PAC R&D Leader and she or he will interact within the broader GEV Electrification and Grid Automation teams to maximize collaboration cross businesses initiatives impact and performance.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
People leadership :
Ensure and guarantee compliance with EHS for the teams and their environment
Align resources and capabilities to meet the requested product roadmaps
Identify the need for hiring training and/or outsourcing
Drive a positive mindset embrace change and lead through uncertainty
Establish a one team mindset and foster collaboration with other teams and stakeholders
Drive excellence and high performance of the teams through indicators and feedback
Evaluate the performance and leadership behaviors of the team and its members
Project execution:
Break down the business strategy and product roadmaps in operational project plans
Ensure the steady execution of the projects through indicators and reporting
Ensure compliance with engineering standards (cybersecurity quality life cycle etc.)
Ensure quality requirements on traceability and documentation
Technical leadership :
Drive continuous improvement with the teams by applying Lean
Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence by example
Participate to the technology strategy and competency planning for the overall R&D organization
Communicate the business strategy and product roadmaps from product management
Provide the necessary support to the team in operational activities in the event of difficulties
Required Qualifications
-Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering telecommunications or similar
-Excellent communication and presentation skills ability to convince
-Good people soft skills especially on listening coaching and interviewing
-A minimum of 10 years of experience in the area of systems engineering
-Strong knowledge of the domain of substation automation and applicable technologies
-Experience with Agile software development practices and tools (Jira Confluence)
-Experience with systems engineering systems integration and system validation
-Good understanding of the Energy Transition and its impact on Grid Automation

Leadership des personnes :
- Assurer et garantir la conformité EHS pour les équipes et leur environnement
- Aligner les ressources et les capacités pour répondre aux feuilles de route des produits demandées
- Identifier le besoin dembauche de formation et/ou dexternalisation
- Susciter une mentalité positive embrasser le changement et diriger dans lincertitude
- Établir une mentalité d une seule équipe et favoriser la collaboration avec les autres équipes et les parties prenantes
- Promouvoir lexcellence et la haute performance des équipes grâce à des indicateurs et des retours dinformation
- Évaluer la performance et les comportements de leadership de léquipe et de ses membres
Exécution de projet :
- Décomposer la stratégie commerciale et les feuilles de route des produits en plans de projet opérationnels
- Assurer lexécution régulière des projets grâce à des indicateurs et des rapports
- Assurer la conformité aux normes dingénierie (cybersécurité qualité cycle de vie etc.)
- Assurer les exigences de qualité en matière de traçabilité et de documentation
Leadership technique :
- Promouvoir lamélioration continue avec les équipes en appliquant le Lean
- Favoriser une culture dinnovation et dexcellence technique par lexemple
- Participer à la stratégie technologique et à la planification des compétences pour lensemble de lorganisation R&D
- Communiquer la stratégie commerciale et les feuilles de route des produits de la gestion de produit
- Fournir le soutien nécessaire à léquipe dans les activités opérationnelles en cas de difficultés
Qualifications requises
- Diplôme de bachelor ou supérieur en génie électrique télécommunications ou similaire
- Excellentes compétences en communication et en présentation capacité à convaincre
- Bonnes compétences relationnelles en particulier en écoute coaching et entretien
- Un minimum de 10 ans dexpérience dans le domaine de lingénierie des systèmes
- Solide connaissance du domaine de lautomatisation des postes et des technologies applicables
- Expérience avec les pratiques et outils de développement logiciel Agile (Jira Confluence)
- Expérience en ingénierie des systèmes intégration des systèmes et validation des systèmes
- Bonne compréhension de la transition énergétique et de son impact sur lautomatisation des réseaux
