About you

We are seeking applicants with:

• Over 4 years engineering experience
• Practitioner-level exposure to Systems Engineering disciplines such as:
  • Requirements Management
  • System Architecture
  • Systems Integration
  • Verification & Validation
• Experience working with complex systems (desirable)
• Exposure to defence environments or ASDEFCON frameworks (desirable)

Education & Eligibility

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Computer Science Systems Engineering or relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance NV1
• Ability to access ITAR-restricted information

Technical Competence

• Understanding of systems engineering principles
• Familiarity with tools such as DOORS or Cameo Systems Modeler
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

The opportunity

As a Systems Engineer you will contribute to the development integration testing and support of software-intensive systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers you will assist in designing and implementing system solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering standards safety requirements and project expectations.

You will also participate in creating technical documentation supporting validation activities and staying current with emerging engineering tools technologies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Core Engineering Activities

• Gather and analyse system requirements from stakeholders
• Support development of requirements documentation and traceability
• Assist in system architecture and design specification work
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Support integration of hardware and software components
• Work with senior engineers to configure and implement system solutions
• Develop and execute system test plans
• Participate in functional integration and system-level testing
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance issues
• Validate systems against operational needs and performance benchmarks
• Prepare test and validation documentation

Development Deployment & Support

• Contribute to change management of engineering baselines
• Participate in design reviews such as SRR PDR CDR
• Liaise with project engineering teams to align scope and resolve risks
• Support installation configuration and maintenance activities
• Assist with training material and user documentation

General Requirements

• Work in alignment with Saabs Code of Conduct
• Adhere to company processes policies and safety standards
• Perform additional duties as required
