Preference may be given to candidates with a background in chemical sampling microbenthic invertebrate sampling and identification and laboratory analyses and procedures of water samples.
General Responsibilities Include:
Collecting chemical bacteriological and biological samples of surface waters for analysis to assess stream health.
Conduct sanitary surveys of community and non-community public water systems to ensure compliance with federal and state drinking water standards.
Serveasaknowledgeablepointofcontactforpublic water systemoperatorslandownersandlocal stakeholders providing guidance on regulatory requirements and compliance.
Travelregularlytomonitoringsitesand public water systemsacrossa17-countyserviceareausingastate-providedvehicle.
Accuratelydocumentfieldfindingsmaintainorganizedrecordsandinputdataintodigitalsystems.
Participate in occasional investigations related to illegal discharges surface water qualityconcerns or public water drinking water complaints.
Collaboratewithinternalregulatoryteams consultants water system operators elected officialsandmembersofthepublicto resolve issues and support environmental goals.
