Job Summary
description:
Serves as technical consultant and direct supervisor of laboratory personnel and manages the performance of all laboratory testing. Develops and maintains policies standards and quality control practices and oversees lab safety and maintenance. Serves as a resource medical technologist in assigned section and has the responsibility/authority to assure that the laboratory meets all accreditation requirements and applicable OSHA standards. This position is represented by SEIU.
requirement:
Variable - Days and Evening. Noc if needed from time to time. 4 x 10s no block schedule Rotating days including weekends. Shift Start times are 6am 9am and 1330. CA CLS License. 3 years experience. Blood bank experience. Will assist with admin duties in the blood bank dept. along with bench work. Approx 3 x 10 hour admin days per month. No and Work Experience:Bachelors Degree in medical technology clinical laboratory science biological sciences chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent: RequiredTwo years relevant CLS experience: RequiredLicenses/Certifications:Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment: RequiredCurrent certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA): Preferred
