About the role:

This exciting role will see you work within the Get Active New England Falls Prevention Service where you will provide clients with short term support to reduce their falls risk and promote a healthy aging lifestyle. You will conduct home based assessments and intervention for clients aged over 65 (or aged 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients) through the My Aged Care system.

You will work two days per week with the flexibility to choose which days. The location for this role is negotiable across the New England region.

Get Active New England is a falls prevention service funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). Our aim is to enhance the wellbeing of our clients through improving strength and balance to assist in maintaining independence and promoting an active lifestyle. We encourage and support your professional development and further education and you will receive comprehensive falls prevention related education.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and organised with high level time management and communication skills. You should be a team player with a passion for falls prevention and working with the elderly.

Requirements:

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
  • Current unencumbered NSW Drivers licence and ability to drive longer distances (up to 300km round trip) for service provision.

Additional Information:

  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
