Program: Information Support Services and Networking (ISSN Chapter 74 Vocational Program)
Job Summary
The Center for Technical Education Innovation at Leominster High School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational Teacher to lead its Information Support Services and Networking (ISSN) Chapter 74 program. The ideal candidate will be an industry professional passionate about instructing and mentoring high school students in the fundamentals and advanced topics of computing infrastructure.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Industry Expertise: Strong content knowledge and significant industry experience in computing infrastructure including but not limited to:
- Cloud Services
- Servers and Networks
- Client Devices
- Web Services/Software
- Security
- Development
- Teaching & Mentoring: Experience working with high school students or young adults.
- Professional Skills: Possess strong coaching communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a classroom and guide student learning.
- Certifications (Helpful): Familiarity with industry-recognized certifications such as TestOut and CompTIA is helpful. Industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA Cisco Adobe etc.) are highly valued.
Licensure Requirements
Candidates must possess or have the credentials to pursue Massachusetts Vocational Technical Teacher Licensure in Information Support Services & Networking.
- Licensed Candidates: Candidates who are currently licensed are desired.
- Waiver Candidates: Industry professionals who are not currently licensed can be hired on a waiver and will be expected to pursue the necessary coursework over time to earn licensure. To qualify for a waiver candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- At least an Associate Degree in an IT-related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of full-time industry experience (or 3 years of full-time industry experience with a Bachelors Degree).
