A Brief Overview

Plans organizes develops directs and participates in the overall operation of the housekeeping department to ensure a safe and aseptic environment is maintained. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the resident/customers status.

What you will do

  • Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the law.
  • Work closely with leadership to keep updated and accurate logs records and certifications.
  • Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the Facility Services Department.
  • Coordinates the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency. Review department timecards and process payroll as well as approve or deny all department time-off requests in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with leadership to ensure appropriate levels of supplies are maintained.
  • Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (i.e. capital equipment needs).
  • Maintains clinical competence in order to serve as a resource to the staff. This may include but is not limited to: performing a broad variety of general housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed; maintaining daily log of activities; responding to emergency overhead paging requests and responding to other department requests as needed.
  • Ensures changes in work such as but not limited to schedules orientation standard procedures cross training; all staff adheres to equipment changes. Works closely with other Department Heads to improve processes within the facility.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • At least one year of general housekeeping experience and one year of supervision and / or an acceptable equivalent combination of experiences

Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • Associates
