Job Summary

Civil Project Engineer plans designs and oversees infrastructure projects like roads bridges and buildings ensuring they are completed on time within budget and meet safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies creating project plans and cost estimates coordinating with various stakeholders and managing project execution and quality control.

Project planning and design

Analyze survey reports maps and other data to plan new projects.

Conduct feasibility studies risk assessments and environmental impact studies.

Perform detailed design development using engineering software.

Create project plans including schedules and estimate costs for labor materials and equipment.

Project execution and management

Oversee all technical aspects of the project from the design phase through construction.

Ensure projects comply with all applicable codes standards and regulations and manage permit applications.

Monitor project progress and manage the budget making adjustments as needed.

Procure necessary equipment and materials.

Quality assurance and safety

Ensure project quality and safety by inspecting materials work and adherence to specifications.

Implement quality control measures and develop field test methods.

Identify and mitigate risks and develop contingency plans.

Collaboration and communication

Liaise with clients to understand their needs and represent their interests.

Collaborate with architects contractors and other engineers.

Communicate with stakeholders by preparing and presenting project status reports.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams.

Required Skills:

Conducting surveys and gathering data for land development and construction projects. Designing and setting up survey systems including total stations and GPS receivers. Performing calculations and analyzing data to produce accurate survey reports.
