Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Associate in NOC Support to ensure the stability security and performance of our network this role you will monitor network systems troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate incident responses to maintain high network availability. Your contribution will support the organizations operational continuity and safeguard against potential security threats ultimately enabling smooth business operations and optimal user experience.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Nagios PRTG) proficient experience
Ticketing and incident management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow JIRA) working knowledge
Network configuration tools and basic scripting (UNIX shell scripting)
Basic understanding of firewalls IDS/IPS and security protocols
Preferred Skills:
Network automation scripts (Python scripting basics)
Cloud management tools (Azure AWS monitoring services)
Knowledge of Configuration Management Systems (e.g. Ansible)
Overall Responsibilities
Continuously monitor network performance security and health through monitoring dashboards and alerts.
Detect diagnose and resolve network incidents in a timely manner following established procedures.
Escalate critical network issues with comprehensive documentation to appropriate teams.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support including troubleshooting hardware software and configuration issues.
Assist with network device configurations patch management and deployment activities.
Maintain accurate records of incidents actions taken and resolutions in incident management systems.
Generate and review reports on network health performance metrics and incident trends.
Monitor for security threats recommend preventive measures and support security compliance initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering and support teams to implement network upgrades and new solutions.
Contribute to process improvements within the NOC to enhance efficiency and incident response.

Networking Concepts & Protocols:
Essential: TCP/IP DNS DHCP VLANs VPNs routing protocols (OSPF BGP)
Preferred: Multicast SD-WAN MPLS
Monitoring & Support Tools:
Essential: SolarWinds Nagios PRTG
Preferred: Advanced use of network management platforms
Security & Compliance:
Basic understanding of firewalls IDS/IPS and security best practices
Preferred: Knowledge of security standards such as ISO/IEC 27001
Scripting & Configuration:
Essential: UNIX shell scripting

Devices & Infrastructure:
Experience working with Cisco Juniper or similar network equipment
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years in Network Operations Center (NOC) network support or incident management roles
Direct experience monitoring and supporting enterprise-grade network environments
Familiarity with incident management processes preferably following ITIL frameworks
Experience working with network hardware and troubleshooting complex network issues
Prior experience with security monitoring or threat detection is advantageous
Day-to-Day Activities
Monitor network performance and security alerts daily to identify and address issues proactively
Troubleshoot network outages or degraded performance and resolve Tier 1 or Tier 2 issues
Document all incident details troubleshooting steps and resolution actions clearly
Collaborate with network engineers and security teams for advanced troubleshooting and incident escalation
Participate in incident reviews and develop improvement actions
Support deployment activities for network hardware/software upgrades
Assist in maintaining network documentation inventory and configuration records
Regularly update management on ongoing issues and incident status
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Network Engineering or related field; relevant professional experience acceptable as an alternative
Certifications such as Cisco CCNA CCNP or equivalent are preferred
Proven track record in supporting and managing large-scale network environments
Knowledge of organizational security policies and compliance standards
