Job Summary:
Canyon Accounting a subsidiary of Reef provides accounting services to all of Reefs corporate and private equity entities. They offer a wide range of accounting and financial services including bookkeeping controller and CFO services as well as tax preparation planning and entity-structuring consulting. The team has decades of experience and prides itself on providing the highest level of service at a competitive rate going beyond compliance services to add tangible value to clients.
Paragon Land Pros is one of Reefs fastest-growing joint ventures. Paragon is a full-service landscaping company specializing in high-quality landscape design installation irrigation systems and ongoing maintenance for both commercial and residential clients. The company operates as the exclusive landscaping partner for Reef Capital Partners servicing their major real estate developments.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with and report to Canyon Accountings Senior Accountant over Joint Ventures and Paragon Land Pros leadership team to perform functions that will primarily support Paragon Land Pros.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve accounting processes as the business evolves including developing new procedures aligned with the rollout of our job-costing software (Aspire)
- Lead the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Own the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles including invoice processing vendor management customer billing and collections
- Reconcile bank accounts and assist in company credit card management
- Assist in year-end tax financial statements and other report preparation
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset schedule including capitalization entries depreciation and tracking disposals
- Assist in year-end financial statements preparation and other audit requests
- Provide data summary and ad hoc reporting as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting is
- 2-3 years of experience in related field; experience working in industry accounting is preferred
- Experience in landscaping construction or other project-based service industries is preferred but not
- Proficient in Xero Quickbooks or similar ERP systems
- Proactive detail-oriented and process-oriented
