Position Overview

We are seeking an Aboriginal Liaison Officer to provide culturally safe support tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander this role you will act as a liaison between clients families and service providers within Osecas Mental Health programs helping strengthen engagement communication and access to culturally appropriate care. The position can be based at either Bunbury or Busselton with travel to the other location to support clients.

Key Components of the Role

  • Provide culturally safe support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
  • Act as a liaison between clients families and service providers
  • Connect clients with appropriate health and other supports based on individual need
  • Coordinate and monitor individual support plans and referrals
  • Advocate for culturally responsive service delivery
  • Promote cultural identity and resilience through community engagement
  • Facilitate access to cultural programs and group activities
  • Engage with Elders and community leaders to inform support strategies
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • 50D Aboriginal identified role: Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Aboriginal outreach experience is essential with experience in mental health highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health is highly regarded but not required a traineeship may be available.

Pre-requisites for this position

  • Current WA Drivers Licence.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Pre-employment Health Assessment.
  • Working With Children Check (WA).
