Job Description:
As an Intern you will embark on a 6-month project at the forefront of Industry 4.0 bridging the gap between shopfloor data standardization and real-time Artificial role is a unique two-phase project:
Phase 1 : AI for Data Standardization. You will help build an AI-powered Copilot tool to assist our Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) in standardizing shopfloor data.
Phase 2 : Edge AI for Real-Time Anomaly Detection. You will use this data-centric knowledge to optimize and deploy advanced Deep Learning (DL) models onto resource-constrained edge hardware for our 2025 strategic projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the development of a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Copilot tool to assist MEs in mapping raw supplier data to standard OPC UA information models.
Curate and prepare technical documentation from shopfloor tools (drilling torque robotics) to be used by an AI semantic search engine.
Validate the recommendations from the AI mapping tool using your engineering domain knowledge to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Optimize a pre-trained Deep Learning (DL) model (e.g. for drilling anomaly detection) for deployment on edge devices.
Use industrial optimization techniques (e.g. Quantization Pruning NVIDIA TensorRT) to make the DL model smaller and faster for real-time shopfloor applications.
Benchmark the optimized models performance (Latency vs. Accuracy vs. Power Draw) on industrial edge hardware (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Industrial PCs).
Produce a final technical report and a working hardware demo that showcases the full data-to-device pipeline.
Required skills and experience:
A hands-on in-the-lab mindset with a genuine interest in working with physical hardware and industrial processes.
Strong problem-solving and logical thinking ability.
Familiarity with Python scripting preferably for data analysis (e.g. NumPy Pandas).
A foundational understanding of manufacturing processes industrial data (sensors signals) or mechatronics.
Familiarity with AI/DL concepts (TensorFlow/PyTorch) is a significant advantage.
Strong communication and presentation skills to document and present findings.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity as the foundation for the Companys success reputation and sustainable growth.
