The Role

We areseeking aPrincipalTechnical Program Manager to leadprograms involvingon-premAV systems(labs benches HILs dev kitsdataingest andsupporting network infrastructure)andtodriveplansaddressing gaps in people infrastructureandcapacity.As aPrincipalTechnical Program Manager (TPM) within theAVInfrastructureteam at GM you will play a critical role in driving the development testing and delivery of complex large-scaletraditional andAIenhancedinfrastructure to accelerate the delivery of next-generation autonomy software.

You will work alongside AVinfrastructure andsoftware teams to help drive the scale and efficient useoftheseon-premhardware & software platforms.Additionallyyoullhandlerunning project timelines resources and scope across multiple teams ensuring alignment among all partners and driving projects efficiently. This role requires a blend of technicalability leadership and critical thinking to innovate and drive the team toward achieving GMs goals.

WhatYoullDo

• Partner with Technical Leads of customer engineering teams to turn their technical specs into achievable implementation roadmaps including planning milestones andidentifyingcross-team dependenciesincluding RACI framework integrations

• Drive the formulation and review of department roadmaps andobjectiveson a quarterly and monthly cadence

• Work with Engineering Managers to ensure teams take on a balanced assignment of critical initiatives iterative improvements and proactive engineering excellence investments. Support calculation of team capacity vs estimated workload and ensure teamscan deliver on their commitments

• Define and track KPIs program metrics and validation milestones to ensuretimelydelivery of engineering achievements

• Work with Technical Leads on design decisions and contribute to the department design reviews to ensure we continue to raiseour technical standards

• Ensure smooth execution of programs and continuously improve execution over time

• Proactivelyidentifyrisks and blockers across software and operationsand drive mitigation plans in real time

• Lead program reviews with technical and executive stakeholders across AIDeveloper Experienceteams

• Establish confidence from partner teams to continuously minimize distractions or conflicts and push groups to improve their output
  

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Proven experience in technical program management especially withproductionsystems andnetworkinginfrastructure

• Proven experience withmanagingHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systemssupportingsoftwaredevelopmentand testthrough simulation

• Experience with systemBOM developmentand standardizations

• Experience with on-prem datacenter footprint capacity planning

• Strong communicationskills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership

• Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect high-level architecture to on-the-ground execution details

• Familiarity with project tracking and status reporting tools likeJiraandConfluence

• Passionate about AV technology and its impact on the world

• BS in Engineering Computer Science or 15 years of an equivalent technical experience in complex technical systemsdemonstratinga strongtrack recordof successful project delivery

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.

Compensation:The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

• The salary range for this role is $194400 to $350500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
