3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp in accounting (e.g. preparing journal entries reconciliations financial statements projections reconciliation of investment portfolios use of investment software &/or financial analysis) -OR-

12 mos. exp. As a Financial Analyst 66562 performing duties such as preparing journal entries reconciliations financial statements projections reconciliation of investment portfolios use of investment software &/or financial analysis.

Job Skills: Accounting and Finance

Major Worker Characteristics:

Knowledge of: accounting; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles auditing BWC & State & Federal laws related to accounting office practices & procedures human relations Oracle General Ledger System*; BWC & State & Federal laws related to accounting*.

Skill in: calculator; Microsoft Office software (e.g. Excel Word PowerPoint)*.

Ability to: define problems; collect & analyze data; establish facts & draw valid conclusions; add subtract multiply & divide whole numbers fractions decimals & percentages; conduct financial analysis; prepare journal entries; perform reconciliations; create financial statements; gather collate & classify information about data people or things; prepare reports in narrative & graphical formats; communicate clearly in writing & verbally with internal & external auditors; plan & organize multiple tasks; work independently; deal with large number of technical variables to determine premium & cash projections; prepare financial statements for review by external auditors; create documentation for monthly financial statements.

BWC OCSEA Selection Rights:
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. BWC bargaining unit members have selection rights before non-bargaining unit members. Background Check:

Prior to an offer of employment the final applicant will be required to sign a background check authorization form and undergo a criminal background check. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position.

BWCs core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm however daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWCs seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Under general supervision of FMR/General Ledger Supervisor examines & analyzes financial data in order to assess accuracy completeness & conformance to reporting & procedural standards
  • Performs-related duties (e.g. provides back-up for other general ledger accounting & investment accounting responsibilities as needed).
  • Prepare balance sheets income statements and statement of cashflow for assigned fund(s).
