Position Overview

TheHuman ResourcesManageris responsible formanaging and administering Clubhuman resourcesfunctions including recruitment compensation benefits safety employee relations performancemanagementand staff development. Provides advice and counsel to management in the development and implementation of policies and practices thatcomply withall applicable regulations and are consistent with Boys & Girls Club mission and values.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership

  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for the effective management of Club human resources ensuring compliance with federalstateand local regulations and community practice as well as Boys & Girls Club mission and values.

  • Provide information to leadership to support management decision-making about policy issues employee relations staff development needs compensation and benefits practices and costs and recruitment practices.

  • Actively and substantially contribute to a healthy organizational culture characterized by the core elements of trust inclusion belonging autonomy position mastery and purpose.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and departments to align goals and strategies and to foster a culture of cooperation and teamwork.

Strategic Planning Execution& Agility

  • Contribute to operational strategic planning providing perspective on staffing and employee development needs to support strategic directions.

  • Identifyand evaluate opportunities to improve human resources policiesproceduresand programs to ensure they meet Club needs and motivate effective performance of staff.

  • Develop and implementstrategic plans that align with the organizations strategic directionsmission and goals.

  • Monitor and evaluatethe progress of strategic initiatives making necessary adjustments to ensure successful execution.

  • Demonstrate agilityby adapting to changes in the internal and externalenvironment andmakingtimelydecisions to keep the organization on track towards its goals.

Management

  • Ensureoperational goals andobjectivesalignwithandadvancethe organizations strategicpriorities.

  • Regularly implementstrategiestopromoteteamdevelopment andperformanceinclusive ofbut not limited toactive listeningteamperformance assessments coachingteam-based learningrecognition fun andtransparent communications.

  • Strive to meet and surpass the expectations of youth families staff volunteers Board funders and other key stakeholders.

  • Support the planning implementation execution and evaluation of special projects.

  • Ensure spending stays within budgeted amounts get advance approval on expenditures asrequired meet allowable cost requirements and support the successful delivery of programs and services in alignment with all restricted funding sources expectations and requirements.

  • Finish work byestablisheddeadlines within the framework of established guidelines and policies.

  • Address issues and concerns in a professional respectful and courteous manner.

  • Ensure records are up-to dateaccurate and organized.

  • Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a way that meets daily responsibilities while continuing to work toward longer-termobjectives.

Resource Development

  • Train staff to understand how their actions and contributions to qualityworkand tomaximization ofresourcesenhance the organizations fundraising effortsand its overall financial health.

  • Participate inorganizationalfundraisingefforts including donor stewardshipactivities Board engagement opportunities third-party eventsandspecialevents.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Ensuresall staff incident reports areinput into appropriate databasesin a timely manner.

  • Implement comprehensive trauma-informed measuresto controlminimize risks in all aspects of safety such as ongoing safety assessments compliance tests and incident response planning and implementation.

  • Ensurecurrentsafetypracticesmeet or exceedorganizationalrequirements.

  • Supportthedevelopment andimplementationof new or amendednew or amendedpolicies practices and processesthatfurthermitigateand minimizesafetyrisks.

Human Resources Supervisionand Talent Development

  • Oversee compliance with employment laws and regulations. Complete regulatory and compliance reports from government and other mandatory reporting agencies such as Unemployment Services Workers Comp EEOOSHACRCAffirmative Actionreporting andtrackvarious human resources metrics.

  • Secure companywide benefits for all eligible employees including but not limitedto:medicaldental 401k life long term disabilityandCOBRA.

  • Provide recommendations and attimesdecisions in matters regarding promotions and disciplinary action ensuring equitable treatment of employees and implementing actions designed to assist management in the success of their departments.

  • Managetherecruitmentprocessandselectionof staff with the qualifications necessary for successful performance recommending recruitment sources and strategies and ensure recruitment process records aremaintainedin compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that all activities associated with the semi-monthly payroll process are run efficiently and accurately.

  • Ensureprograms and servicesareutilizingqualified volunteers inappropriate areas

  • Ensure personnel files are complete securely stored and privacy ismaintained.

  • Support efforts to ensure the organization has an acceptable number of qualified staff and effective leadership and management structures tooperateeffectively and deliver programs.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and guideyourteamto do so as well aligning efforts with the organizations values mission strategic priorities and policies.

  • Ensureworkplace operationscomply withallrelevant regulations policies and best practices.

  • Provideactive supervisionofall direct reportsinclusive ofongoing coaching regular one-on-one meetings performance evaluations goal setting and talent development.

  • Participate inavailablecoaching opportunities regular one-on-one meetings with supervisor performance evaluations and goal setting.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to learning and development by following talent development requirements ensuring your team does the same and creating and following aprofessionaldevelopment plan.

  • Create and manage succession plans for keyrolesinareaof responsibility.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

TheHuman ResourcesManagerrequires a majority combination of the following:

Education and Experience

  • CollegedegreeinHuman Resources BusinessAdministrationor related field.

  • At leastfiveyearsof progressiveexperiencein human resources.

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Skillsand Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resource functions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting human resources management.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey information ina timely open and clearmanner.

  • Reliabletransportation.

  • Knowledge of and ability toeffectively usecomputers software and other technology tools.

  • Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships withothers.

Working Conditions

Work will primarilyoccurin a climate-controlled environment with minimalpotential forsafetyorhealth position mayinclude flexible working arrangements such as remote work and compressed workweekssubject to supervisory role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets.

PhysicalDemands include:

  • Must be able toremainin a stationary position for extended periods of time.
