POSITION DESCRIPTION The Office Para assists with clerical and work production. They maintain and control materials equipment and supplies within the assigned area. The Office Para works with staff in delivering instructional services management of programs or providing clerical services. The Office Para works closely with families and students to support a variety of needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Answer school phones
- Operate building security cameras and doors and use verification protocols to admit school visitors
- Assist with clerical and production work
- Maintain building activities/events; prepare weekly activities/events reports for staff and parent distribution
- Maintain inventory and control of materials equipment and supplies within assigned areas
- Supervise students in various school settings
- Carry out duties related to the student attendance
- Collaborate with staff in delivering instructional services management of programs or providing clerical services
- Participate in training; attend meetings as required
- On an as needed basis paraeducator employees may be required to attend to a student whose needs include routine procedures or assistance with regular hygiene
- Other duties as assigned by the Office Coordinator and building Principal
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma and/or related experience. LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
