Job Summary: | The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Director of Child Health Clinical Research hereinafter referred to as Director within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. This academic leadership role will advance the divisions research mission by fostering innovation scholarship and collaboration in clinical and translational research. The Director will oversee the research portfolio of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology mentor faculty and trainees and facilitate the development of high-quality human-subjects research protocols that address important questions in pediatric anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. The Director will report to The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology Chief and the Vice Chair of Research Department of Anesthesiology. The selected individual must maintain a full-time faculty position in the Department of Anesthesiology Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor level. An MD or DO is required as is board certification in anesthesiology and pediatric their faculty position the individual as a practicing member of the Departments and Divisions care team model must continue clinical duties which include supervising advanced practice providers and learners in a clinical setting. Additionally the faculty member is expected to maintain his or her academic productivity and scholarship activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide academic leadership for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Divisions research enterprise setting priorities that align with departmental and institutional strategic goals. Mentor faculty fellows residents and medical students in the design conduct analysis and dissemination of clinical and translational research. Facilitate the development and approval of human-subjects protocols ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations while promoting methodological rigor. Supervise the divisions research coordinator to ensure effective study execution data integrity and regulatory compliance. Stimulate scholarly productivity by encouraging grant submissions fostering collaborations within and beyond the Department of Anesthesiology and supporting dissemination of findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international scientific meetings. Collaborate with the Vice Chair for Research to integrate pediatric anesthesiology projects into larger departmental and institutional initiatives. Monitor and report on the divisions research progress and scholarly impact to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and the Vice Chair for Research. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as
This position is eligible for a competitive benefits package leadership stipend and protected time for leadership responsibilities. The stipend for this position has been established at $12000. Additionally the selected candidate will receive 0.20 FTE of protected time. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
