Role description:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for complex electrical designs across the APAC region. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team (Electrical Mechanical Controls/SCADA) and play a key technical role on mining power generation and hybrid/renewable projects. The role is hands-on with strong focus on studies design quality and mentoring junior engineers contributing directly to the energy transition in the region.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of electrical scope from concept through to commissioning supporting factory and site acceptance testing commissioning and troubleshooting activities

• Deliver detailed electrical designs for mining and power generation projects ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations

• Develop HV substation designs earthing designs and studies and prepare single line diagrams schematics cable schedules specifications and cost estimates

• Work closely with controls and SCADA engineers to ensure holistic integrated power generation solutions.

• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines project managers suppliers and contractors to ensure successful delivery.

• Use simulation tools such as PowerFactory and CDEGS (or equivalent) to model electrical systems and assess performance.

• Perform power system studies utilising PowerFactory and CDEGS (or equivalent) to validate design assumptions identify risks and optimise system performance

• Produce clear concise technical reports and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

• Implement safety standards and risk management practices to ensure all designs and installations are secure and compliant.

• Build strong relationships with clients suppliers and regulatory bodies delivering technical presentations and reports.

Youll have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering;

• Ideally a minimum of 7 years in electrical design for mining and power generation with a strong understanding of Australian standards.

• Proficiency in HV substation design earthing studies and simulation tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder expectations.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal skills capable of effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
